Nature’s Calling Environmental Education (NCEE) is a charitable organization that has been offering outdoor education to schools, summer camps, and family festivals since 2008, and in 2017 launched the first Forest School in Norfolk County. We provide innovative, inspire and transformational outdoor experiences for children through play and exploration, supporting their potential and passion for building deeper relationships with our natural world.

Minimum 2 years
NCEE is actively seeking a board director to provide leadership, focus governance, decision-making and support to matters pertaining to program development and operations of our organization.
The board of directors is legally and ethically responsible for all the activities of the organization. To that end it:
- Determines how the organization will carry out its mission through long-
- and short-range planning,
- Adopts an annual budget and provides fiscal oversight and management,
- Recruits, orients and develops board members,
- Oversees and evaluates the performance of the executive director,
- Evaluates its own performance, and the overall performance of the
- Establishes policies for the effective management of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies and
promote the organization’s mission
attend board meetings (3 or 4 per year)
participate/volunteer in fund-raising activities and special events
participate in aspects of the organization commensurate with your
Qualifications and Requirements:
Board members will have a keen interest in supporting children and families in the community in outdoor settings to develop nature connections.
We are seeking an individual who may have a background in early childhood education, financial management, law, non-profit and/or corporate business
experience, and most particularly – communications, marketing, and fund-raising skills.
