Forest School Classes

Brant Location

NATURE BUDS – PARENT & TOTS Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30am

Come join our Forest School community! Witness your child embrace nature while you connect with like-minded families. Learn to nature mentor your wee wild ones. Spend the morning around the fire singing songs and reading stories, wandering the forest, playing in the mud kitchen catching critters and nature crafting.

ACORNS – Ages 4 to 7 – Mondays & Thursdays

Children in Acorns level Forest School are given the opportunity to interact with nature through creative free-play, campfires, sit spots, nature stories and songs, den building, nature-inspired crafts, and the introduction of identifying flora and fauna. Our focus will foster inquisitive minds in hopes to continue their learning beyond the outdoor classroom. Studies show that if children of this age are outside for long periods during all-weather, they will have a high level of agility, self-sufficiency, self-confidence, common sense, compassion and reverence.

EAGLES – Ages 7 to10 – Tuesdays

Children in the Eagles level of Forest School will come to know themselves, others and nature through nature connection. We aim to foster curiosity of the natural world that surrounds them by generating inquisitive minds through the art of questioning. Eagles will spend their days connecting through nature songs and stories, sit spots, working with tools, cooking on the fire, interactive nature inspired games, survival techniques and a higher level of identification of flora and fauna. These days spent outdoors will generate curiosity to help them better engage in school. We hope they internalize their experiences on the land which will add to the attributes of their personalities.

RAVENS – Ages 7 to 12 – Wednesdays

Students in the Ravens level of Forest School will come to know themselves, others and nature through nature connection. Ravens will spend their days connecting through nature songs and stories, sit spots, interactive nature inspired games, survival techniques, cooking on the fire, working with tools and a higher level of identification of flora and fauna. Just like the playful Raven, these kids will have the opportunity and freedom to do what they need to do. We hope they internalize their experiences on the land which will add to the attributes of their personalities.

WILD TURKEYS – Ages 12-16 – 1 Saturday afternoon a month

There is an urgent need to get our Teens outside and connecting to their Wild side. Get them off their screen and away from social media so they have an opportunity to learn from nature and our cool nature mentors. They will be immersed in an afternoon of flora and fauna identification, games, hands on projects, exploring the forest, working with tools, cooking on the fire, and good old fashion free time to be a kid.
